St Bartholomew’s Anglican Parish, Crookwell
As a result of their Planned Growth Mission St Bartholomew’s Anglican Parish, Crookwell is in a much better position to approach the future.
The Rev’d Kevin Stone said " I have been very pleased to have with me in the Parish of Crookwell over the last two and a half weeks Ron and Marie Cameron from Planned Giving Counsellors. Their presence with us was the result of the Parish Council giving careful consideration as to how best to address the question of stewardship within the parish.
After meeting with Ron Cameron it was thought best to have the intensive phase of the program during the early part of the year.
Prior to the intensive phase there was much preparation within the parish with the following committees: Vision Budget & Publicity, Administration and Listing and Thanksgiving Dinner Arrangements.
All this was only possible as a result of the specific direction and care provided by Planned Giving Counsellors.
I was struck by the very good response parishioners gave to joining the committees. And secondly by the response given to the program by many parishioners to the gentle and yet persuasive presence by Ron Cameron. Nothing was forced but rather the program was under-girded with excellent biblical teaching on the question of the stewardship of money.
In addition to the very good response to giving there has also been attention given to the vision of the parish and a much better attention to the parish roll.
I would want to give every commendation of the program having also, some years ago, as a student at St Paul’s Manuka been struck by the care and responsibility exercised by Planned Giving Counsellors.
