Fr. Simon Bailey, the Rector of St. Saviour's said "The program provides an ideal opportunity for the parish to take stock of where we are in terms of living up to our stated vision of being a worshipping, caring,learning and serving Christian community".
The Planned Growth Mission took the form of a Celebration of Thanksgiving. Instead of a dinner the parish decided on a Thanksgiving Party which was a great success in drawing together a large number of families and parishioners. The first part of the party or celebration took place in church where speakers shared their commitment to God and the vision of the parish.
An audio visual entitled 'Caravan' was presented prior to moving over to the parish centre for a wonderful time of fellowship with a glass of wine (or soft drink) and a large selection of finger food.
On Thanksgiving Sunday the people made their pledges by coming forward to place their Thanksgiving Cards in a basket and lighting a candle with a deep sense of renewed commitment to God and the church.
